I love my job! Especially when I get to shoot country style weddings like Jessy and Matt’s. A little over 2 weeks ago Jessy and Matt celebrated their love for one another in a beautiful ceremony held on Jessy’s parents property at Katoomba in the Blue Mountains. It’s no secret that I love to shoot weddings in the Blue Mountains so I was excited about the day, but when I arrived at Jessy’s parents B&B in Katoomba I was blown away by all the gorgeous country style details that Jessy and her mother had arranged. Jessy’s family are Swiss and their style is eclectic but sophisticated, every little piece had been painstakingly thought out but it looked like it had been put together whimsically. I loved it!
Jessy and Matt have been together for several years and have a gorgeous daughter Liberty who served as the flower girl on the day, she looked adorable in her little floral dress. After the ceremony Jessy and Matt held a short naming ceremony for Liberty which was increadibely special, what a beautiful way to make 2 celebrations come together. After the ceremony we went for some photos back at the family’s B&B in Katoomba while the guests enjoyed drinks and nibbles at the family property. The reception was held in a gorgeous silk lined tent on the family farm surrounded by beautiful details, farm animals and good old fashioned hospitality. I was swooning at every detail on the farm, if I could shoot weddings like this all the time I’d be one very happy girl
Hence this post contains a lot more detail shots than I normally post! I had my friend Christine come along and second shoot for me at this wedding, as it was her first wedding ever she could not stop beaming and thanking me all day long, it was quite funny to watch someone as excited over the details as I was! Together we were like kids in a candy store
One of the most unique things about this wedding was during the reception where Jessy and Matt held a game of pass the parcel with every layer revealing a gift and a question. For example “who is the tallest person in the room”, that person then opened up the next layer of the parcel. I thought this was a great game to play at a wedding and so did the guests who were playing along and having a good time trying to work out who had been married the longest or who had the most children. Imagine how excited and surprised they were to find that the very last round revealed that Jessy and Matt were three months pregnant with their second child. The entire room erupted in squeals of joy. It was the perfect way for me to end the evening
Jessy and Matt, thank you so much for trusting me to capture your special day, I thoroughly enjoyed myself and can’t wait to show you the rest of your photos xxx
